It's a boy!

Welcome Spartacus...I mean Jacob James or as Ethan says, JJ!                                                                                       8lbs. 1oz. 20 inches
Well the little guy finally made it...with some resistance...it's only suiting that his nick name in the womb was Spartacus!  Cecil was a little nervous I would want him to keep the name permanently but I gave it up...somewhat unwillingly.

Proud papa...he loves his boys!  My parents took Ethan for a couple days and Cecil had a hard time without his big guy.
Everything went really well.  I got over half way there without any really difficult labor pains but they broke my water, pains were intense but he was born in less than an hour later.  He had the cord wrapped around his neck so my CNM had to hurry and cut the cord and pull him out quick.  He started breathing right away though and even though it took him a bit to get to the right color he's big and strong now!  Still a bit blue in this pic though.
First peek at Ethan's little brother.
Ethan got excited but after a little kiss he was pretty done with the little guy and more interested in graham crackers and the buttons on my bed.
Grandpa Mullin

Grandma Mullin
Yes, Ethan was happy with my ice chips.  When he came in to see us he waved at all the nurses at the front desk and said, "Hi!  Where's baby?"  They all thought he was the cutest thing!
My sister came up for Thanksgiving and she took some time to come visit me and new baby!  It was a short visit but much appreciated and fun to be with family and my big sis!  Thanks sis!

 Am I seeing double?
If you look at my posts from when Ethan was born in September '09 you will see some stunning similarities.  The only difference I really see is where their hair grows.
Ethan always had a mullet...from the ultrasound in the womb to even now the hair in the back of his head grow faster than the rest.  Little Jake came out with a dark alfalfa and a receding hair line like a little old man!
And of course the Seright stink eye...love you too pirate boy!

Bowling

Grandma and Grandpa Mullin came up to do something fun before the new baby, so we decided to take Ethan bowling for the first time.  He got so excited he went and grabbed his bowling gear we have been practicing with and insisted on bringing it with us.
We set up the little ramp thing but he had to pick up the ball himself and put it on and after he pushed it he kept pushing the ramp down the alley.
Grandpa thought it was so funny watching him try to pick up the ball he made sure we let him do it all by himself!
Ethhan wouldn't let anyone else have a turn so G-pa took him to play on this ghetto horse.  G-pa had to shake it to keep it going, but of course Shane loved it!
 Yee Haw!

Holy Wild Animal Batman!

Tonight we decided to make some delicious cap'n crunch peanut butter/chocolate treats (which I'm totally eating while I'm still pregnant)! Cec was also totally into it as well as you can see...
Well Cec got impatient waiting for them to cool so he put them outside in the snow and when we got them probably five minutes later there was this big chunk missing!
And we saw tiny footprints in the snow...dang cats right?!
Think again Batman!

This may not be the last time we see our little foxy friend!

And then came the cold white stuff...

Well we knew this day would come sooner or later...I had just hoped for later, but we had fun while we had it and Little Shane was totally excited about the snow!  He woke up and I told him there was a surprise outside and to look.  He looked out and exclaimed, "SNOW Mommy SNOW!" It didn't take us long to get dressed and out there playing!
We cleaned off the car...
Learned how to have a snow ball fight...dad won when he pegged E in the neck with a big whopper!  We also made snow angels...this is Cecil's:
Mine...but I'm 9 months prego so it was hard to move:
 And Ethan's...
 Trying to get Dad back!
Cec tried so hard to make a snow man but the snow was just to airy...
And despite their efforts the snow ball ended up on me!

Thanks boys!
This is his "cheese" face while eating a big wad of snow!

Pumpkin Time!

Today we went to get pumpkins at this little market in Cedar.
Ethan pulled out like 6 pumpkins but we just took one for each of us.

We turned on some Halloween music and went to it.
Ethan normally doesn't like to get dirty but he sure liked the whole experience.
We put these lights inside and he loved how cool they looked in the pumpkins.
 With Daddy...
And Mom...Ethan wanted to draw a fire truck on his pumpkin so that's what we did!
It was a great Halloween this year!  We ended up going to St.George and hanging at Grandpa's so we could see more trick or treaters.  Ethan did really well, he handed out candy instead of eating all of it.  I made Ethan's costume...pictures to come, but know that it was a good time!

Livestock Festival! Woot! Woot!

This is one of my favorite festivals in Cedar City (the renown Festival City) besides the rather large showcase of tractors and large farming equipment, and a police car, the real finale and stars of the show..
 1,000 sheep!
After seeing this scene for the first time, I soon after adopted the phrase, "only in Cedar!" Oh how I love thee Cedar...let me count the ways...well I just saw at least 1,000 of them!  Ethan enjoyed the show as well with one of his good little friends Jett.

And then he turned 2!!!

He woke up and G-ma and G-pa Seright sent a fun birthday package so he wanted to open it right away!
I think the biggest smile I got was when he pulled out the card!  He's a sentimental little guy!
I know it's fuzzy but it's the only one that turned out and he was so happy for the new doggy blanket and caterpillar letter toy!  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!
We decided that since Ethan doesn't really like it when there are a lot of people around and he doesn't get to be with both mom and dad at the same time much so we canceled his party and just spent the whole day together!  We got ice cream, went to the pet store and just hung out and let him get as dirty as he wanted!
And we scored this sweet car at a garage sale and I think it's safe to say it was a big hit!

Notice the annual home-made t-shirt...incase you can't tell it's a number 2 that looks like a monster with teeth and one eye!  Fitting for a two-year-old don't you think!
And we found lots of new uses for it in a short time!

We officially went all over the neighborhood sometimes pushing, sometimes pulling and sometimes riding on top!  Current highlights of your life:
*we recently discovered how stubborn you are (definitely from your daddy)!  Your tantrums have seemed to magically increased since your birthday further increasing my belief in why stereotypes exist...I just hope they don't get worse because I think you traumatized the cashier at Wal-mart last week but at least she won't need birth control now!
*your favorite phrases are "no! no! no!" and "Uh-Oh"
*you really only watch the movie 'Monsters Inc.' (when mom lets you that is)
*you don't really talk a whole lot but every day i hear new words from you and you do mimic faces and you can point out all sorts of stuff in the books we read.
*You love the library...not so much story time but you do like when they sing and dance between reading books at story time. Side note: thanks for yelling "no! no! no!" when the reader lady asked if the kids wanted to read another book!  It did make a few people laugh but not the reader...sorry reader lady...
*You are an excellent eater, thanks to the picture of Captain Moroni in our kitchen which provides the proper motivation.  When you finish each meal you cheer and point to him because mommy says if you eat it all you will be big and strong like Captain Moroni...and dad.
*You climb in your crib but not out, you still use a binky when you sleep but when I can't find you, you are usually laying in your crib playing with your toys quietly so you can use it.  And I was going to ween you but I have to admit I really like the quiet time it provides!

Happy Birthday Ethan!  We love you so so much and can't imagine what another year will bring!
