New Years in San Diego

After Christmas we went to San Diego to visit my sister Andrea. Her kids were absolutely in love with the baby! I caught them one day sitting around him singing and playing with him. Unfortunately I missed the part Ethan was laughing super hard, but they are still so cute! I love them!

Here is Ainsley with the baby-she will be a great mom one day...and perhaps a great baby sitter for someone (wink wink)! I wish I had more pics from our trip! It was really fun, we did puzzles and Cecil taught Max how to pitch and throw a baseball and although we really wanted to go the the annual wiener dog races, it just didn't work out so we had to settle for the balloon parade, although we all agreed that although the wiener dog winner float was impressive, the parade just wasn't up to par this year. It was still fun though and I even figured out how to nurse in the parking lot behind all the people without being detected...I have to say I am getting better all the time!

Christmas!

Ho! Ho! Ho!
We had a busy Christmas this year. It was the Seright year since we spent the holidays with my family last year, so although the original plan was to just be down at the ranch with the whole family, we found out late in the game that some family members weren't going to make it and dad had to work Christmas Eve so they wouldn't be leaving Coalville until Christmas Day. So we decided we would go to Coalville a couple days before and then travel to the ranch with them. So that's what we did and even though I was not looking forward to traveling because Ethan officially hates his car seat and just cries the whole time, it was worth the trip to be with the fam!
We had all kinds of fun as you can see! We hung around the house mostly and talked and played and started remodeling the basement so we can watch the big t.v. dad bought down there. On Christmas Eve we went to the church and played some mean BBall. It was a blast! We dressed up for the occasion and I have to say that I think it worked because I actually made a lot of shots even though I haven't played in like four years!
We thought Ethan would be a baller too, but turns out he just fell asleep to Grandma's songs about Indians going kiss kiss bang bang under a tree...what child is this...and what a Grandma!
Grandma and Grandpa gave Ethan a whole outfit to match the hat and I have to say it is an award winner! Not only is it completely functional because it doesn't just fall off every time he moves, but also conveniently adorable...he gets all the ladies to look!

Before and after the Ranch

We tried to take some family pics on the computer but this is about as good as they got.
This is just one of my favorite pics of the boys. Love those two little red dudes!

Me and the Dude...self portrait obviously because I always take the pictures these days.
Dad and the babe at the ranch-just hanging out by the fire place.

Baby Blessing

I just can't believe we fit all these people in our apartment! It was so fun and so great that almost everyone on Cecil's side made it to the blessing! Even Ellie and Josh came down last minute and it was fantastic to see them again! And Bill and Candace rolled in too to represent my side of the family! It was fun to have the whole family around and Ethan liked all the attention!
This outfit is supposedly the same outfit my brother Steve wore when he was blessed and so were the rest of my brothers. Mom couldn't remember who made it, but it fit perfect and everyone loved it! Although it isn't the traditional white outfit, it was a welcomed change and really brought out his eyes.
Family Picture!
Looks very natural doesn't it?!
Here's four of the five cousins born this year on Cecil's side! Ethan, George, William and Emmitt.

Halloween

Our Halloween was pretty quiet this year since we really didn't want to take the baby out with the swine flu crap going around and with him being so small, but we did dress him up a bit and we even had some trick or treaters, who came to the door and said, "wow, that is a huge t.v.!" Thank you small child. This is one of two outfits Ethan wore for his first Halloween...the first, a pumpkin boy, of course got blown out (if you know what I mean) and the second, a pirate child, lasted at least until bedtime.Even though Ethan looks creeped out, it's really because I kept making funny noises to make him look and I guess they scared him because he started crying right after I took this picture. Big motherhood oops.

Auntie Lou came to visit for Mary's wedding in October and Baby Ethan loved her from the minute he set eyes on her! It was funny because Lou babysat while we went into the temple ceremony and after we couldn't find them anywhere! We walked all around the temple and the other buildings and the car and finally we went back to the door where the couple comes out and there sure enough she was sitting on a bench with a sleeping babe. I laughed because Lou is so good with babies I should never worry! The wedding was awesome and I was so excited to see Mary with such a wonderful man! I love her so much! At her luncheon I told the story of the time I let her cut my hair and she gave me a mullet! I got the nickname Mullet Mullin for some time after that one, but i still lover her...I'll get you back one day Mary Malyn!! Mwa mwa mwa

Four Generations!

This is when we went up north to Bill's wedding. Cecil, his mom, Elo, Grandpa Cecil and little Ethan...four generations! Grandpa was so excited we came. Any time he gets visitors he takes us in his back room where he has collected tons of baby clothes and toys. He always gives us some sacs and we choose what we want. He is wonderful!

Coming Home

We finally got to come home and it's a good thing Cecil was home with me to help me out...look how cute they are together.

Sleep in the hospital?

Cecil stayed overnight with me and Ethan Shane but the little pull out bed was pretty uncomfortable so he and I stared a bed. It was actually pretty nice we both fit now that I wasn't burdened with a gigantic belly anymore! When I woke up I looked back to check the baby and this is what I saw...like father like son...how beautiful!

Here's Buddy!!!

Baby was born at 11:58am on September 15th! As you can see he was 8 lbs. 9 oz. He seems to look mostly like Cecil...I asked the nurse if he was really mine because I didn't see me in him, but I later discovered he has my lungs, nose and thighs...and perhaps the double chin! While the nurses weighed him in they kept saying, "Wow, he's big all over isn't he?!" Of-course me and Cec didn't know if baby would be a boy or a girl and our name list was only narrowed down to about 5 for each sex, so when the nurses asked what they should call him we simply said, "well just call him Buddy." They laughed, but that's how he was known until we finally decided right before we left the hospital. What they didn't know was that I actually liked that name because he would be guaranteed to be loved. Everyone loves Buddy...it's just such a friendly name! Cecil vetoed that option!

Collecting My Pee

So I had high blood pressure this ONE time and they worry I have preeclamsia so I have to store my urine for 24 hours and keep it in this sweet harvest bottle in our fridge. Cec thought it was pretty funny!

And so began the late night snacks!

So Cec and I started eating and preparing for the baby...of-course I soon found out that food didn't stay down often and I actually lost weight during the first trimester...but not my idea of a good diet...I hated it and often found myself wondering why in the world it would be so difficult to bring a little baby into the world... I'm thinkin'...

How we told we were prego...

We weren't planning on sharing the news I was pregnant, but Angie (Cecil's sister) and her husband announced they were having a baby and so it only made sense that we let the world know. So we took our little neice and wrote "Shannon's pregnant" on her stomach with a little pic of a kidney-bean looking shape and we had her go into the living room and stand in front of the super bowl game and rip her shirt off in front of everyone...not that we wanted to condone riskay behavior, but it was pretty funny! I think it was a pretty big surprise to everyone considering we are now the fifth pregnancy in the Seright family this year!
