And then he turned 2!!!

He woke up and G-ma and G-pa Seright sent a fun birthday package so he wanted to open it right away!
I think the biggest smile I got was when he pulled out the card!  He's a sentimental little guy!
I know it's fuzzy but it's the only one that turned out and he was so happy for the new doggy blanket and caterpillar letter toy!  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!
We decided that since Ethan doesn't really like it when there are a lot of people around and he doesn't get to be with both mom and dad at the same time much so we canceled his party and just spent the whole day together!  We got ice cream, went to the pet store and just hung out and let him get as dirty as he wanted!
And we scored this sweet car at a garage sale and I think it's safe to say it was a big hit!

Notice the annual home-made t-shirt...incase you can't tell it's a number 2 that looks like a monster with teeth and one eye!  Fitting for a two-year-old don't you think!
And we found lots of new uses for it in a short time!

We officially went all over the neighborhood sometimes pushing, sometimes pulling and sometimes riding on top!  Current highlights of your life:
*we recently discovered how stubborn you are (definitely from your daddy)!  Your tantrums have seemed to magically increased since your birthday further increasing my belief in why stereotypes exist...I just hope they don't get worse because I think you traumatized the cashier at Wal-mart last week but at least she won't need birth control now!
*your favorite phrases are "no! no! no!" and "Uh-Oh"
*you really only watch the movie 'Monsters Inc.' (when mom lets you that is)
*you don't really talk a whole lot but every day i hear new words from you and you do mimic faces and you can point out all sorts of stuff in the books we read.
*You love the library...not so much story time but you do like when they sing and dance between reading books at story time. Side note: thanks for yelling "no! no! no!" when the reader lady asked if the kids wanted to read another book!  It did make a few people laugh but not the reader...sorry reader lady...
*You are an excellent eater, thanks to the picture of Captain Moroni in our kitchen which provides the proper motivation.  When you finish each meal you cheer and point to him because mommy says if you eat it all you will be big and strong like Captain Moroni...and dad.
*You climb in your crib but not out, you still use a binky when you sleep but when I can't find you, you are usually laying in your crib playing with your toys quietly so you can use it.  And I was going to ween you but I have to admit I really like the quiet time it provides!

Happy Birthday Ethan!  We love you so so much and can't imagine what another year will bring!

The Iron County Fair

We took E-force to the fair this weekend and it was a big hit...well some of it anyway.  He could have spent all day at the petting zoo but when you kept wanting to sit in the poopy hay we had to put an end to that!
And climbing into the horsey fenced area...the people in charge looked a little  concerned that I wouldn't take you down in time...I promise I am a semi-responsible mother!
And then there was that wonderful little kid who gave you the goldfish he won because his mom was smart...thank you strange child, but E really does love fish, although he did try to crush you with the peanut butter jar...
We also decided to go on some rides at the fair...needless to say those were some really hard tickets to get rid of!  We went on the ferris wheel and Ethan cried the whole time, and the only other ride he would go on was the carousel, which I had to go with him and the guy running it, although very kind, let the ride run at least 6 minutes!  It was the longest ride ever and I wanted to vomit...but not Ethan Shane, he wanted to keep going!  After 4 rides he was ready to get off though, so I thankfully bowed out!
