We're baaaaack!

Well I took almost a year off from the blogging, after my computer crashed, JJ peed on my camera making the shutter stick closed, and my phone pics weren't downloading...good thing cecil is awesome and fixed all of them....except the pee part...
We hopped on the band wagon and are really into super heroes these days!  And bad guys (they often find their way into our prayers as well).  Every now and then E will ask H.F. to bless Darth Vader and Yoda and then open his eyes and peek at me to see if I am listening.
Anyway the boys are great and growing fast...more updated pics to come of the little dudes!

Training

I went on a run with the boys the other day and was quickly reminded how much my boys don't like running with me.  I only made it about two miles when Ethan wanted to jump out and look for bugs! I managed to convince him to run with me, and surprisingly, he made it all the way home!

Except for a few distractions:
He even helped push the stroller:
And if you look closely, he did it all with his sandals on the wrong feet!  Good job little man!

Date Night!

I have to say we do pretty well going on our weekly dates (I need my hubby time)!  But this time we did something extra special...we dated the cedar city way...at the rodeo!  We took my parents since they too wanted to have a true country experience.  It was fun, although I have to say for having all that real beef around, the burgers really sucked, and the nachos were a waste of calories! And by the end Dad was obviously a little bored and anxious to go get some real food...but thanks anyway cowboys and cowgirls! Yee-haw!

Remembering 9/11

Truthfully this picture was not planned in any way.  We were just snuggling in bed watching the rain when Ethan jumped out of bed and said, "Mom, the American flag! Cover your heart!"

Aw...we taught him something!  I guess going to all those patriotic parades is paying off!  But seriously, I hope we pause and take a moment every day, not just today to say a prayer and thank God we still live in a free country!  God bless the USA!

Let's Fair It Up!

Not gonna lie...I have been waiting all year for the Iron County Fair!  It may be small but I just love fairs!  And so do my boys!
 Complete with a petting zoo...
Games!  Cec and Ethan tested out how fast their arms are.  Ethan's pitch was about 14mph!
Cecil was disappointed with his 75mph pitch, but I still think he is a whiner...I mean winner!
Ethan won a sweet blown-up bat, which I'm confident will lead to many brotherly injuries...hmmm
Not only does Parawon have an amazing Memorial Day parade, but the fair had some other fun things to watch!  For instance, they had these giant hamster balls on water!  You pay to get in and try to move the big ball on the water...hilarious to watch!  And we got free chiropractic consultations and what fair isn't complete without some treats...mmmmmmm...see you next year fair!

Update...

Turns out, despite my efforts to avoid it and change...I am "that mom" and I have "that kid" (see earlier post if you don't get this)!  Apparently my lack of style has prompted him to make his own poor fashion decisions...and this is what he chose today (which is pretty mild compared to most).  His red garage car shirt, bug shorts, and a home-made head band he found in one of those drawers you never want to clean out for fear of what you may find.  Yes, armed with a hanger, rest assured he put that head band on just like that himself and went around shooting bad guys all morning!  Luckily he wet his beloved bug shorts so I got to put some other pants on that were slightly better...his fire truck shorts!

Me, Ethan, JJ and a Saturday Afternoon!

Well I finally got motivated to go through the garage and organize so we can put cars in there.  We got a special treat when a great big semi truck pulled in next door with just two flats of sod.  Ethan just stood and watched and said, "please, please, please rid biiiig truck!"
But like with all things all good things must come to an end.
Lunch time:
All Ethan wanted was sausage sausage sausage...and cheese curds, and yes, that is popcorn...he caught me in a moment of weakness and eight sausage links later he was satisfied and ready to take a rest so we could go see the cars race.
This year was Cedar City's first annual soap box derby races (a new experience for me), but based on the excitement of my toddler and my new tan, I believe we will be making this an annual event in our family as well!  Ethan got so so excited every time cars would race down the big hill and to top it off they even had four-wheelers with trailers on them to haul the cars back up the hill again (almost as good as the cars themselves)!  Here's to having boys and living in festival city!
